We just made it home from our 10 hour drive back from Florida, and now that the girls are both tucked peacefully in bed in their cribs, I can't help but have a little nostalgic reflection on the last few days. We left Monday, spent two full days at the beach, and drove back today and I must say that once again, I am so proud of my girls. They really had the best time! The day we arrived was beautiful....blue skies, not a cloud in the sky. Tuesday it was overcast and windy by the time we made it down to the beach. During the pretty part of the day they were napping away in the hotel room so we didn't get to enjoy it! But regardless, by the time we made it outside, they had a ball! They laughed and "jibber jabbered" with each other and with us! Wednesday was a better day to get outside and once Chris was freed up from his meetings, we headed down to the beach and these brave, brave girls fearlessly got right in that ocean water. We were letting them just crawl all over the sand in their swimsuits when they started barreling towards the water. I kept trying to stop them, but finally let them put one hand in, then the other, and they just took off, laughing the whole time!
I loved how no matter what the weather was like, the girls had an insatiable love for just being outside in the ocean breeze air, and just being in the moment with each other and their mommy and daddy. It is a zest for life that at such young little ages, I truly admire.
We took the girls out to eat several times and they were little champs! They just LOVED sitting in the high chairs and looking around at all the people. They would flirt like crazy with anyone who would flirt back. It was hysterical. And the car ride down and back....well I am officially impressed. They literally had a blast in the back seat when they were awake, and slept several times! We stopped to eat a couple of times and there again, they would flirt with everyone that would walk into the fast food restaurant we would run in and out of! They are too funny!
I love these girls. I love them more and more with each day. And trips like this....well they make me even more aware of how much they are growing and how fun it is to have a little family of our own. They are simply too fun for words and I just continue to look forward to all of the many more precious beautiful memories we have to make with our two beautiful, hilarious, brave, adventurous daughters. I sure do love you girls, more and more with each passing day!
