First Day of School - Kindergarten

Today, the girls started school.  All summer long - actually, all year long - the girls have been talking about finally getting to go to Spalding and wear "umiforms".  There was zero anxiety about starting Kindergarten for these two!

We opted to keep them both in the same classroom this year...with no plans of separating them.  I mean seriously....who could separate these two?? They laid their clothes out the night before, and were up EARLY, ready to start their adventure!!  Chris and I both walked them in to the school.

We walked them into their classroom and they did great.  Savannah needed to suddenly go potty...of course...and made me stick my hand around the door so that she could see that I was still there.  Their teacher was unbelievably awesome.....said to me that her daughter had done the same thing to her that morning, and she was in 4th grade. We were able to grab her, Mrs. Arner, and get a pic of the girls with their new teacher!

Savannah used a few other stall factors while Madeline happily ran around to her side of the table and sat right across from her new friend Bindershka!  Savannah talked to the teacher's aide as we finally made out exit.

Unbelievably so, there were no tears!  Not from them, and not from me!  Just two happy girls starting Kindergarten and a life full of memories and learning!

No tears until I drove downtown and passed The Children's Discovery Museum.  That's when it happened.  I saw the rooftop where we used to play....and I broke down.  My babies are growing up. Thank God above they are still small enough to want to go play on that Discovery Museum rooftop.  We better get on that soon.
