Birthday Party

This past weekend the girls celebrated their cousin McKenna's first birthday with her and lots of family and friends. Do you know those mom's (you may be one of them) who just have an absolute talent for creating crafty, artsy, Martha Stewart-y things for their children? That is my sister-in-law Tonia. McKenna was an absolute beautiful birthday girl, and her mommy (Tonia) did an outstanding job creating a Candyland wonderland...any 1 year old girl's dream! Tonia certainly set the bar high by coming up with such creative decorations and unbelievably amazing birthday cupcakes - made from scratch by the way. Just makes me sick with envy! McKenna's giant cupcake could make it on the cover of Southern Living's Spring edition. All of the party decorations could, for that matter. I was impressed with her mommy party-planning skills.

It was so good to be able to spend some time with family as we don't get to see my brother, Tonia and McKenna that often. It had been 4 months to be exact, and with all of our girls being the ages they are, 4 months can be equivalent to 4 years in growth terms.

These are the memories that are most definitely worth making, no matter what plans must be altered or changed, no matter the cost. To be able to see the twins there to celebrate with their cousin's first birthday was a most special day without a doubt.
