Life as a Mom

I was reflecting today on the beauty of motherhood...and feeling very humbled by the amazing grace God shows us by revealing his glory to us through the eyes of our newborn babies. The magic of Christ coming to this earth as a small infant is even more real to me as I have a deeper understanding of the amazing gift a newborn baby truly is. It is no wonder to me that this is how God chose to send this world the best gift of all...I understand that more and more each day.

This morning I was rocking Savannah who seemed a bit fussy, and when I moved her from my chest, I noticed that she had spit-up everywhere. Somehow, she missed the burp cloth I had on my shoulder and had completely soaked my arm from top to bottom. Sitting there, covered in spit-up, I looked at Savannah and these were the eyes she gave me. I had to take a picture of it. She was so happy to have been relieved of her tummy pains, and I was giddy with joy at the fact that she felt better and could give me that sweet, sweet smile of hers. The "sacrifices" of motherhood are filled with moments like this...that make sitting in your shirt, covered with spit-up, one of the most beautiful, glamorous moments of your life.

The two close-up pics with pink are Savannah. The blue is Madeline.
